Have researched thoroughly but cannot find the J types which were raced as follows:-
1933 Le Mans;
John Ludovic Ford & Maurice Baumer completed 176 laps. Which J type: 3? 4? or possibly even J2 s/c?
Norman Black & Ron gibson, retired after big end problem on 125th lap Which J type? 3? 4? or even J2 s/c?
1934 Le Mans
French team - Charles Druck & Philippe Maillard-Brune. Retired after 30 laps. Which J type? 3, 4 or J2 s/c?
Expert opinions welcome!
Best,

Ford /Baumer was C0291, and I believe black /Gibson was a J3 but not near any books to confirm . There's an article by our registrar in a previous yb about MGs at Le Mans . Oliver |

Mark, the Ford/Baumer car in 1933 was a C-type; C0291.
Black and Gibson are reported in several modern publications as driving in 1933 but pre-war sources say Hendy and Parker were driving a J3, J3756, no mention of Black and Gibson.
Druck and Maillard Brune were probably driving J4008, but this is not known for certain, at least by me.
All cars still exist!
Regards, Graham
