FYI
Brian had difficulties posting. The problem seems to be with Windows Edge (the browser that comes with Windows 10). The solution was to use download and use Firefox. Not all browsers interpret the internet codes commonly used the same way. Microsoft browsers seem to be more of a problem in this respect. Hence the test above.

As Nick says it seems that the whole problem was caused by the browser and now appears to be resolved.
