I'm planning to relocate my battery to the correct under floor position (it's currently clamped behind the driver's seat). Could someone give me the dimensions of a battery that fits under floor. My current one is 9" long x 7" wide x 8" high (over the posts)

I'm not certain that the UK battery size designations are the same as the US, but in the US, the 3EE (fork lift or tractor battery) is close to the original size, but the Group 26 (small battery) fits nicely and provides plenty of power.

And if you need a battery cover, I have a reproduction one that is unused and surplus to requirements after I sold the M..

Thanks for the replies. Because my battery is not located underfloor, I'm not sure if it will fit into the proper place below the driver's seat. I've made a cardboard replica from the excellent drg on the Pre War Minor site and will crawl under the car tomorrow and try it out. I just wondered if anyone with a correctly located battery knows if mine (8") will fit. I'll get back to you Orstin once I've checked it out

With reference to your request the attached photo of the original battery cover gives you the dims of the battery you require if it is to fit through the hole in the floor board. The battery cover measures 6 3/4" wide x 7 1/2 " between the holding down holes. Rich
