I have added a very nice wiring diagram for the J2 with colour coded wires to Document downloads|Technical|Electrical courtesy of Paul Leers.
If there is any demand, Paul will add turn signals to his diagram.
Thank you Paul

Thank you Paul
That is a very clear diagram. I will soon be getting to the stage of wiring my J2 and it is a most timely posting. The addition of turn signals would be appreciated.
Thanks also to Nick for adding to the site. Best wishes, Mike

Hello Mike and Nick,

Today I posted a revision in Nicks post on the drawing since there was a mistake in the drawing at the head lamp and dipper switch connections.
Mike I will add the direction indicators as soon as possible and will use the color coding as used by AutoSparks.

Paul

Amazing, no stop lamp(s) - is that road-legal these days?

Perfectly legal, provided the vehicle was first registered before 1 January 1936. I believe that having two rear lights, and of course two proper dipping headlights, are the only retrospective lighting requirements for our cars.

Also, please correct me if I am wrong, vehicles registered before the 1st October,1937 do not legally require direction indicators, but if fitted they must be in
working condition.

Nope, same date - 1 January 1936. The MOT requirement is that if fitted, they must be tested, and presumably therefore must be working, but then we don't have MOTs for our cars so a moot point I would have thought.

Thanks for that Simon, I may have been thinking of speedometers which were compulsory from 1st January, 1937.
Cheers, Chris.
