The car looks to be in good order - as such the asking price is quite low?

Some contrast to that F type currently for sale.

In 2013 this car was advertised at 75,00 Euros with an extensive pre-war Brooklands history (one JCC Rally is recorded). Ex Boneyard in the 60s/70s. Engine is/was 1703AP, sometimes said to be Ex Nigel Musselwhite, but all a bit vague. Worth a closer look, but a bit of detective work is needed I think.

Jeremy,

Have you left a 0 off the price or is the comma in the wrong place?

The car was advertised for many months on the Car & Classic website at a price of 69000 euros, same dealer. The details they sent me are as follows;

This is a unique MG J2 that was refurbished with a high quality work to get the shape of the famous Nigel Musseewhite EX120 Race car. However this car is much more pretty and has much more history behind. .

This MG J2 was originally registered at 26th September 1932. As you know very few MGs J2 were built (just 2.083 between 1932 and 1934). With Cycle wings only the ones from 1932, which were replaced in year 1933 by the full-length type typical of all sports MGs until the 1950s TF . So her cycle wings are the original ones.

This car , with Chassis number J2115 (and the engine number 1703A33P that are at the original UK Registration Certificate Document Ref.0221-847-7943) was (according to Triple M register member notes) one of The University Motors Car which means that it bore the “MG1896” Registration Plate from new.

Her first owner , E. Hight was running the 1934 JCC Brooklands Rally , and gained a 2nd class award. (triple M registers certify that).

The car was well maintained until the 70s , moment in which he was refurbished to get the current shape that emulates the wonderfull EX120 of Nigel Musselwhite (similar to D0460), with his boat tail back , racing cockpit, big rear wheels and left side exhaust. (Information as per Triple M register)

Active member of the MG owners club was participating ,under the hands of Clive Richard D. Baker (Address:The Old Ship / High Street, WINGHAM, Canterbury CT3 1BJ) and Peter John Stace (Address: 23 Joy Lane, WHITSTABLE, CT5 4LT ) in the Brooklands event in April 1987, in the Fourth MG Regency Run (from London to Brighton) at the 17th of May 1987, in the Brooklands event in April 1988, and also at the MG Car Club event at Brooklands in 1992.

This fabulous little car is finished in British Racing Green with brown trim. Le Mans aero screen, louvered bonnet with leather strap, boat tail back, side exhaust, cycle wings and stone guards on the head lights plus Le Mans fuel filler cap and large rev counter.

This is a truly exciting road/racing car and such fun to drive. In excellent condition throughout after undergoing a major restoration with little use since.

Triple MMM members as Christophe Cuni (owner of MG PB360) can certify you all this historical data.

It has British documents and also Spanish documentation, and has been registered as an historic car in Spain. PRICE: 69.000€
