Guys

As a newbie to the world of MMMs I do not have any back copies of the Printed Register.

In previous postings on this Forum I have been advised that PB 0685 appears in the Printed Register specifically in 1993 and 2001.

Could anybody who has copies of the Printed Register over prior years please advise on any references to PB 0685 and specifically any Register Number allocated to the chassis number.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Tim

PB 685 is listed in the 2004, 2014 & 2016 printed registers as owned by M J Lister last recorded change of owner 31 Aug 2002; chassis only. That is all; no register number listed.

PB0685 is listed in the 1993 printed register as belonging to George May. Chassis only, no Register number.

My understanding is If it was just a chassis a Register number wouldn't have been allocated.

The earliest printed Register I have is for 1986 and PB0685 is shown as being owned by George May with no other details, which implies that it was chassis only.

Guys

Thanks for this information, gratefully received.

It actually makes me feel quite pleased that the PB I am building up is not taking a complete, original, matching numbers car and taking it apart and rebuilding it for enjoyment in my kind of motor-sport; but is taking a bare chassis which has not been near the road for at least 30 years and giving it a new lease of life. I would not want to have taken such a chassis and try to build it up as a restored original car when it could never properly be considered as such, it will always be an honest car that will claim to be nothing more than it actually is:- a PB chassis rebuilt with contemporary parts where possible to give me, and I hope others, pleasure in seeing such a car being used for what it was intended.

This is where I have got to to date.

Currently: a one piece bonnet, separate bonnet side-panels, and a supercharger cowling are being fabricated by a local panel beater and at the same time a bespoke tonneau cover is being made. After that it will be, strip it all down and take the tub and panels for paint. Reassembly and interior trim will then be the order of the day followed by rolling road set-up of the engine. Hopefully to then go to the members practice day at Loton Park hill-climb in the spring.

Regards

Tim

PB 0685 also appears in the 1982 Register list with Mr. May as owner with no other details - probably a chassis only then as well.

The 1965 Register list does not mention this car at all. Still in the "Bone Yard"??

Hope that adds a little bit.
