I wonder if the K type engine , number 570 AK survived ?

Hi Rod,
According to the Register's database the only record we have of that engine number is in relation to K2008 - your car I think!
I'm guessing that K2008 has a different engine nowadays - and if so could you please let me or Peter Green know which one is installed?

Correct !
K2008 has 552AKD installed today. From the Registration book it appears to have been fitted in the '50's.

552 AK was originally in K0294, last reported as in Japan in 2002 as a K3 lookalike
552 AKN was originally in KN0309 - a pillarless saloon which we lost track of decades ago
552 AKD is an unknown number but I'm wondering whether it might have derived from a K1 in the chassis range K0365 or thereabouts - difficult to say, because the engine numbers did not necessarily follow the chassis number sequence when first built!
