Just how critical is the oil feed restriction to the head? The official pin dimensions are very precise (.221" across flat)giving .003sq."aperture.But what to do if the hole isn't to spec? In my J2 the hole is tapering from .26" to .24".The standard pin only goes in 40mm.but the depth of the hole is over 65mm.I have now fitted a .24" brass rod filed flat one side to .22"this is 62mm long, with flat side topmost, pushed well home. The oil flow looks good to the rockers but a fair bit of spray from the bevel drive gears. How to judge "correct" amount of lubricant? Would an excess starve the crankshaft? Any comments welcome !
