You sit in the drivers seat and say out loud what's written on the bonnet several times.

George, Don't think that it's a T type chassis, look t the size of it in the engine photo,it also looks too new. Originally I thought that it was an MGC or Healey 3000 engine, but I can't make out any tappet chest covers, and the ribs at the front I don't recognise.

Paul.

I say based on an MG TD. Gas tank and spare holder are TD, chassis is TD, handbrake is TD, rack and pinion is TD. No idea on engine.

Hi
I think the engine looks lika a big Austin-Healey as does the gearbox remote and the rear spring hangers. Valve cover ?
If I am right it would be a fearsom beast.
Just some thoughts

Owned by Melbourne MGCC member Phil S. Its a Y type chassis with a 2433cc Blue Streak (Australian Austin) engine if I recall. Goes very nicely too.
Sunglasses are advised!

That is one cool looking MG. Sometimes you just got to stuff originality and not worry about restoring it to the same as the day it left the factory and put your own mark on it. That is a head turner of a car with attitude, style and class. I'm in the camp that LOVES IT!!!
If the next generations are to fall in love with these cars then there has to be some show stoppers like this.

Hats off to the restorers/owners, it is stunning and super cool and if it upsets a few purists along the way then even better :-).

Hi Matthew, please tell Phil that I think it looks amazing, a real show stopper of a car that will appeal to classic car lovers outside of MG aswell. I usually prefer swept wing cars as men love those womanly curves but that is a sexy car. Old styling but futuristic bare metal at the same time, love it!!!
