Hello Rainier
I doubt that this block is from PA1677. That car had engine number number 1939AP and to my eye the third digit looks more like a '6', because the top of the digit is rounded, not a horizontal line.
1969AP was originally with PA1707 and we have a note on file saying that the block was being offered for sale in October 2015. Seems more likely to be that one!
As an aside IF the block were from PA1677, (which I doubt) that car is said to have been raced by Don Moore in the 1940s and 1950s. (It is presently in Australia)

I stand corrected. After a second look I agree with you. Perhaps the car it belonged has been lost already...

PA1707 is recorded as owned by a German owner who is sadly recently deceased.

Thanks Andrew
Yes, we knew that you had sold your PA - could you please contact me off line with details of where it ended up? The trail goes cold on 31 March 2016!
Regards

Thanks Rainer for alerting the forum to the P Type Block on Ebay and thanks Dick for confirming it is not from my car, PA1677 otherwise I would have been bidding for it. My understanding is that he Original engine from 1677 was replaced by the factory in 1936. cheers Ian |
