I received an email from a NEMGT Register member asking about the attached photo. We were involved with that group in making their arrangements on this side of the pond, but I don't remember these small plaques being available. Any one have information about them?

Mike I am sure that I have one somewhere. It is just the badge & not attached to anything. I wonder if they were produced at our end for the Raiders and not generally available.

Mike I have found mine - still in its plastic wrapper !! It was certainly a wearable badge, with a clip on the back There is no maker marked on the back.
Tried to upload an image of mine but it appears to be of a too large a size - not an issue that I have had before with uploading images.

Thanks Tony. Love to have one if there are any extras out there. We enjoyed the group so much . We now own with my son three MMM cars . All because we met the Raid group and their cars on that 1991 adventure.

That badge looks as it could have come from the artistic hands of Norman Ewing S.A. Gerhard |

Gerhard. Haven't heard from Norm for some time. He had stayed several times with us in New Jersey and had joined us on the NEMGTR Circuit of Britain in 1990. Norm was also on the Ocean To Ocean trip in 1986 (New York City to Santa Barbara California to Toronto Canada in 19 days) To say the least, he is quite a character, My wife and I love him. If anyone has heard from him, let me know. And yes looks like Norman's artwork.

Norman did not play any part in the 1991 MMM Raid. The person who would probably know the antecedents of the badge would be Roger Thomas, who I don't think is a user of this forum |

I think I actually saw this badge the other day when I was going through my collection. Dick Knudson may have had them made through the pin company that did the T Register's GOF stuff.
By the way, our home in Connecticut was a destination on the Raid. I have a pile of photos of all the cars that showed up in our back yard. I'll start scanning and posting them soon. An amazing group of people and cars!

Chris I would love to see your pics of the cars, especially any that showed my M-Type ST6963

Mike:
I am quite certain that the plaque in the centre is the work Izzy Ramos, who used to do much of that work for NEMGTR

Sorry Mark. You are not correct. I have spoken today to Roger Thomas who organised the 1991 MMM Raid. He confirms that he was responsible for the design of the badge, in conjunction with Martin Warner.
