I popped round to my local bike racer's emporium today to pick up some R40 to bring with me to Peebles (just in case!) but to my horror found that they had none on the shelves. I'd forgotten that the local road racing season has started and at the weekends these guys stock up their bike transporter with anything they think they'll need over the weekend's racing, including R40.
So if anyone coming to Peebles next week had a spare litre or two of R40 that they'd be willing to part with and would bring it with them, I'd be happy to purchase. It's not that I expect to need it, but if I do, then nothing else will do and it's not the sort of stuff you can buy in the local garage.

Peter, If John Gillett is unable to assist, I know that Mike Linward and Ian Mackay will be at Brands on Saturday (only) and then will be making their way to Peebles.

Mike Linward has been briefly to Brands this morning but has now departed to join the convoy heading for Peebles.
I think Peter Green is the best bet - I can confirm John Gillett is already here.
