The front cover of Safety Fast! has a terrific photo by Colin Murrell of Chairman, Jeremy Hawke, in the Bannell J2 in action at Wiscombe Hill Climb backed up by a splendid four page Triple-M spread covering Wiscombe and Etretat. Great stuff! Look what you're missing, non-members ![](images/icon_smile_big.gif)

Fame at last! I must say, Colin did really well to capture the car at all, considering the electrifying speed I was travelling at...…
As they say...."I'll get me coat"....

It's a great edition of Safety Fast. 4 page spread, and the front cover. Also I note a new Scribe coming soon. It was great to see you competing Jeremy in the Bannell J2

And it would be really interesting to see sometime a write up on the Bannell J2 with its history and construction. It looks fantastic, is the chassis lengthened? Simon C. |

Simon,
You'll find a detailed write up of the Bannell J2 in the 1992 Yearbook, copies of which are still available from the Library.

Simon, standard length, but a dog-leg in the LH rail for the diff. I admit, it looks long sideways on, but that's because it's very low compared to others (where the driver sits on top of the prop shaft) and the 15" wheels exaggerate this. |

Good to see the car is running in anger again - well done Jeremy.
The last time I saw it in action was when it was setting records at the MIRA test track - I was there as a general factotum for the 24 hours!

The super write up shows what you all missed by not coming to Wiscombe. An event that should not to be passed by. Colin did well coming so far, and I have no excuse going only about 20 miles. Thanks for the mention, by the way.

That's one huge pic of me, Mr Chairman ! Could you not have asked Andy to make it a bit smaller???
Anyway, in a different topic I stated that I usually receive my copy the same day the Brits do, but this time I only received it yesterday when the bulk of members received it last Friday. We offered a pull handle MGB for sale in it and it was sold by midday on that same day, so Onno's point stands, I'm afraid.
Otherwise, another lovely issue. Will do my utmost to keep up the standard come January!
