I am looking for two brass connectors to connect fuel line direct to the carburettors on my NA.
One photo is of the setup on a L type.
The second photo is of the missing part (unfortunately not in brass)
They are not mentioned in the SU catalogue or on their website

Jos,
that is a 1/4" to 3/8 "BSP asymmetrical double ended union.
Look at "Think Automorive" website... lots available and this is a standard fitting.

Surely best practice is to have some flexible tubing between pump and carburettor - a rigid copper pipe risks stress on joints and fracture as the engine vibrates and pump is fixed to body ?

Hello Jos,

Is the under bonnet picture of your L type or another one?

That's why the pipe is curled. Flexible pipe didn't seem to come in until the P Type and N Type.

There are plenty about on Fleabay; just specify the threads and brass pipe fittings and you should find what you want:

Jos, you could go overboard like I did on my NB. Note that I used standard banjo fittings soldered onto the 5/16" copper tubing. I made these quickly while waiting for a local hydraulics company to make my new flex hoses and never changed back.

Sorry, Tommm, but there's something clearly wrong with your car - I can see the reflections of the carburettors in the cam cover
