Imagine my surprise when visiting the web site of a French hotel to find several photos of this black 2 seater. Evidently she hasn't been taxed in Uk since October 2007 and I wonder what if anything is known of her?

Dave

PS DVLA believes her engine to be 20,000cc

Sorry Nick. I hit post and as I did so saw I was in parts for sale. Would you please be kind enough to move it to, I would guess, general?

Many thanks,

Dave

Listed in the current printed Register as PA1586 belonging in the UK to Bernard Ducourau. Perhaps M Ducourau has returned home with the car?

This car was bought second-hand from King & Harper, Cambridge in 1939 by my father who was 19 at the time. He kept the car until c. 1960 and bitterly regretted selling it. I have lots of photos of the car. I was in touch with the owner maybe 12-15 years ago who was a Brit' living in France. Can't remember his name just now, but I think I have some correspondence somewhere. I think it may have changed hands in France.

Very interesting! Wearing my 'umble Registrar of PA 'at, may I ask, Andrew if you could share info with me so that the Register's knowledge about this car can be safeguarded for posterity?

Dave, which town/region of France were you in?

(I did write to the recorded owner, M. Ducourau a year ago by snail mail but never received a reply)

Interestingly, an MG special also features on this hotel's web site, together with a "Maigret" Citroen.

I believe this one competes at Classic LeMans. It competed 2016, was entered again 2018 but I did not see it out at qualifying or racing.

Thanks Graham. Strange that a PA and a P based special, as I recall, Nigel Musselwhite's replica of the original Bongazoo, should end up on the one hotel web site. Unfortunately it appears they are full for our dates. A visit might have been quite interesting.

Is it worth your writing to the hotel Dick?

Graham,

PA1874 is not on the Register Database - which is surprising as this is such a well known car, as you say. Are you sure that's the right chassis number?
