I am also surprised the car is not on the Register as Bongazoo used to be raced regularly in the UK and was very well known?
A search through the old Yearbooks is sure to find the name of the former owner UK owner - the name Tim Hunt seems to come to mind but his name is not in the Register records?

Graham,
You must be looking at the printed Register, I was looking at the Register Database: both the chassis number and the register number are missing from the database.

When Tim Hunt owned Bongazoo (PA1874, Register Number 787) it had its original Registration Number BVX 80 not ABM 510 which is on the car now.

ABM 510 is a different car Tim Hunt wrote an article on BVX 80 in either a year book or the infoletter as it was called before the bulletin. |

In a very recent issue of our bulletin is a feature of the 2018 Classic LeMans. There will be details of who was competing in this car and a photo of it competing in the 2016 event, if that helps :) a similar report and the same photo is also on our Register Facebook page :)

Terry,
I was only repeating what has been mentioned in all the printed Register Listings since 1986.
This is a picture of PA1874, Register Number 787, that was printed in the Silver Jubilee edition of the Printed Register.

Just for information the article by written by Tim Hunt on Bongazoo, PA1864, is printed on page 27 of the 1980 Yearbook.
I should have checked the Yearbook index, available in the Documents section of this web site, before posting my earlier reply

It looks like there is a UK registration number on the apron in Oz34's photo of the MG Special at the hotel, I can't read the letters but the number is 477. The number 477 is also visible behind the NS rear wheel in Colin's photo from 2016 Classic Le Mans. Does that help with identification? Neil |

John this is clearly the "477" referred to by Neil and, armed with that knowledge, and your photo I think we can confirm that this is the number noticed by Neil on the apron in the pic I posted. The small illegible white sticker on the left of the bonnet is present both in "my" photo and Colin's Le Mans one.
The thing that puzzles me is that all references are to Bongazoo. I was under the impression, and mentioned it earlier, that Bongazoo had long departed this world and the car now carrying the name was built by Nigel Musselwhite in, as far as I can remember, the '70s. Have I got my wires crossed?
