I am currently restoring L2063 and am looking for someone with the necessary experience and expertise to metal skin my new timber body frame.
I would prefer someone who has previous experience of MGs located in the south west region. Any advice and/or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Mike.

Mike,

If you care to phone me on 0117 986 4224 (Keynsham) I can point you in the right direction, just south of Bristol.

(You might recall that we met several years' ago when we were both working at Aztec West when I used to drive my PB to work).

Kind Regards, JOHN JAMES J3656, TC0750, TF9823.

I can recommend an excellent panel man in the South East if all else fails, his current work will take him about three months to clear, he is about the best I have come across, he is based north of Worthing.

I have been asked to reprint this in the correct column, my mistake.
Steve Gilbert does excellent panel work in ally or steel. He advertises in the MMM Yearbooks.

Hi Nick& Chris,
Many thanks for your replies and recommendations, I am aware of SG but not the one near Worthing however I was hoping to find someone who is nearer to me down here on the Somerset/Wiltshire border.
If all else fails then they would both be worth talking to.
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Mike.

Hi John,
How are you? well I hope, thanks for your reply I will give you a ring as you suggest.
Yes I recall you driving your PB to work, if you remember we also used to meet at the Bell in Lacock along with David Stansbie, Grahame Ash, Mike Hawke along with several others a few years back. How long ago was that?
Your probably thinking He should have finished that L2 rebuild by now!!
its a long story for another time but The F type is almost ready for the road after many hours work, and considerable expense.
Talk to you soon.
Cheers,
Mike

Hello George,
Thanks for your post, I will try to send you further pictures of L2063 and F 1068 for the files. Not much work has been done on the L for a couple of years as I've been concentrating on getting the F back on the road, this is now nearly finished, just needing some new weather equipment, so its now full steam ahead on the L.
Kind Regards,
Mike.

My only concearn with Steve Gilbert is the time it takes to get the work started, I have been waiting well over 18 months ( maybe even 2 years ) for him to take my J2-J4 for pannelling. I have paid a deposit.
