Is there anyone who can shed a light on who 'The Blower' was? He (or she!) wrote loads of stuff and had his own column in the Light Car & Cycle Car in the thirties under that pseudonym.

Hope someone can help!

W E Blower was I think the technical equivalent of the Haynes manual for the 1930's.
Dad told me about him a long time ago I will ask Dad and get back to you.

Hi David,

Thanks for that, although I think W.E. Blower was actually called that and the man that wrote for the Light Car used the name as a pseudonym. He wrote about little bits of news and never really got very technical.
But, asking your dad would be a good thing, he can probably help out, so please go ahead and do so!
Perhaps he also knows who Captain E.J.W. Noakes was and which car(s) he owned?

Thanks again!
Cathelijne

P.S. Point taken on the not racing thingie and a good one it is!

I have a letter to the owner of PA 1834 from the factory file dated 20th June 1949.

Usual item, oil leak form V.D. and a brief list of valve timings.

Signed; W.E. Blower. Service Department.

The first edition of Blower Manual was 1952.

Brian.
