Hi Francesco the 1 and 2 positions are for winter and summer charging rates from the dynamo, although you may find the wiring has been altered over the years ! |

Hi Rob, thank You. I'm trying to put order in the dashboard in which the rhombic panel was missing I have checked that in the instrument cluster panel the position "head" stands for "head lights" and "side" for "side lights". I didn't know about the positions referred to the dinamo charging rates and I wonder if they work also with the two brushes dinamo I have got on my Pa. Besides, can you explain me which are the functions of the central Horn buttom/dip switch? I think that one is for high-beams, but the others? Thank You once again (di nuovo grazie in Italian), ciao Francesco |

Francesco if you have a two brush dynamo and a two bobbin regulator & cutout then you will not have high and low dynamo charge rates. Without a voltage regulator (the original configuration) there was a possibility of overcharging the battery - hence the charge / lighting switch arrangement OFF, no charge. Side, side lights and reduced charge rate Head, headlights and full charge rate
With a voltage regulator you cannot overcharge the battery. Nick |

I have always assumed they stood for Dip & Head (main beam), anyway it is the dip switch! Nick |
