Dick and Forum:
I note they do not take returns. And its ebay so caveat emptor.! They appear at automobilia auctions at a similar price with the option of return if not satisfied.
Having said that looks original in photos. I have two and handled a few more. But at that price I would want to know more. If possible handle the midge and get a history.(provenance) The reproduction ones are easily spotted once you have seen an original. Mainly finish and the chrome has not got old chrome look /feel.(patination). All the best.

Hi, Were these Mascots ever made or supplied by the Works? They were advertised "for M.G. car owners" by H.J. Randall, Birmingham, in 1934. I always thought the ones with "MG Car Co." on the side were replicas, got one of these with the same number underneath. Cheers Karl |

Dear Forum:
As this short thread demonstrates there is more to this than meets the eye. John Jame's links are the two written accounts of the midge saga. That I am aware of.
There are at least two or three generation/releases of midges. Two sizes- small and large. So original is a loose and slippery term.
I am not a fan of ebay. To much of the wild west . All this said, I like my midges and feel it suits the car. Hope this helps.
