I need a couple more bonnet catches for my M type; I am going to fit four of them to the bonnet to hold it down firmly. The question is are these parts available new? I think I have seen them for sale somewhere. Alternatively if someone has a couple of old ones for sale I would be interested.

Brilliant! Thank you, I would never have found them on that site.

I could never understand MG's need to hold the bonnet down with 4 heavy catches costing over £200 these days + 2 more holding the front valance on what was supposed to be a lightweight inexpensive sports car!

Ah, but Nigel you are such a lightweight yourself. And I guess you have never had a bonnet fly open on you when travelling at speed. Plus you could always improve your MG by adding lightness as Mike Hawke often said. Steve Dear used to say that he could take a second off his time up Wiscombe by losing a couple of pounds. Not sure that he ever did!
I look forward to seeing your new M type body finished-lightweigt of course!
Stay safe!
