The 1997 Triple-M list recorded TSV 499, which I believe is the original registration mark for the car, as belonging to chassis number PA1304.
The same list recorded no registration mark for chassis number PA1634.
By 2005 there was no mention of TSV 499, which was shown in the 1997 list as belonging to PA1304. Instead, registration mark AKB 50 was shown as belonging to PA1304.
The same list recorded no registration mark for chassis number PA1634.
The same information was repeated in the 2009 and 2015 lists.
The 2018/2019 list recorded the registration mark AKB 50 as belonging to both PA1304 AND PA1634.
Yet again, there was no mention of registration mark TSV 499.
The DVLA search facility records AKB 50 as a 1934 red MG 1056cc as ‘Not taxed for road use’. Date of first registration is December 1934 and Date of last V5C log book as 15/12/83.
It also records TSV 499 (remember this registration? -it has suddenly re-appeared on the scene) as a 1935 blue MG, taxed (tax expires 30/11/20). Date of first registration is February 1988 (probably a reclaimed registration) and date of last V5C log book as 14/01/2013.
PA1634 survives with a valid chassis stamping and the original number plates (AKB 50), but no log book. The log book was promised on the sale of the car, but has not materialised.
If anyone can help, please contact me at jj@ttypes.org.
I shall be asking DVLA for help in the quest to get to the bottom of this.

TSV has the look of an age related number rather than an original Scottish issue.

Yes, Simon.
I should have realised that it is indeed an age-related number!
Thanks, JOHN |

John, Simon and Forum:
Don't claim to follow this one in every detail. When and if this topic moves on; I for one would like the next part please.
How far back does the written list go back to.? All the best.
