Is it a good idea to bolt the body frame directly to the chassis or to incorporate a fibre packing piece between the two. I am thinking specifically of the M type. Thanks in advance for any info. Regards Rich
I packed the body fixings on the M. The chassis was not perfectly flat so at some of the fixings there was a gap, so rather than twist the bady I packed it out.
Strips of rubber or lino are a good idea on top of the chassis rails, it evens out the lumps and bumps and stops the wood wearing. It also gives the body a bit of a grip on the chassis so its not just relying on the bolts. There seems to have been something there originally but I don't know what exactly.
