Hello everyone,

Is there a generally accepted "fitted length" for the N type halfshaft? I am installing Roger Furneaux's axle nuts, so should not just press them all the way in, having relieved the hub by 260 thou or so. At least I think perhaps I should not. I guess I'm looking for the distance from the hub flange face to axle end. Anybody know this one?

Reed,

I've recently adapted a K type axle to this system, and also a few years back a P-type. I found that generally the half shaft protrudes approximately 3/16" through the outside of the hub.

Presumably you are also fitting Speedi sleeves on the shaft to compensate for the splines at the point where the lip seal will ride.

Brian.
