Have begun reading John Snowdon's diary. He mentions Bryan Lyth who was active on the MG scene in the North East in the postwar years. I know because he told me. He sold me his F Type salonette in 1969. What a lovely coincidence.
Along with all this material is an MG TA/TB owner's Manual. I presume they are quite rare?
The diary also lists the details of the C Type and J3. He does not mention a specific car but Bryan owned the C Type MG1100. There was a pair of C Type front wings in the garage in Darlington where the salonette was stored (been there for 10 years!). Pa wanted to buy the C Type rather than the salonette but Bryan would not sell.
Alan, who gave me this "MG" material, gave the rest of John Snowdon's stuff to the local car club. It therefore occurs to me that local clubs might possibly be a source of information for those of us researching the lives of our cars and their previous owners.
