Just a quick note to let folks know that there is a Triple M car currently occupying the rotunda of the RAC Club in Pall Mall. If you are in London and it is of interest pop in and have a look...

It was 90 years ago on Sunday that one of the Earl of Marchs Montlhery midgets, C0253, won the 1931 RAC Tourist Trophy in Belfast, driven by Norman Black. Worth a toast !

The actual car will be on display in the rotunda from the 16th - 31st August with the fabulous Tourist Trophy itself displayed upstairs in the Segrave room. The first time the car and trophy have been together for some time I suspect.

Exciting !

Best wishes, Team Potter.

(Nick, could you help me on the photo sizing please....)
Duncan - your wish is my command. Nick

That really is tremendous - thanks for sharing. Can anyone stroll into the club and have a drink?

This is fantastic. You, David and Emma must all be really proud.
It's great to see one of our cars getting this sort of recognition
Well done to all involved.

Looks fabulous, Team Potter. The programme for the 1931 TT can be found here - https://www.triple-mregister.org/ArdsTT/Ards%20TT%20Programme%201931.pdf

Ian, I suspect not a drink in their bar, I think a quick peek may be more realistic, unless of course you are a member....(I’m not unfortunately !)

No, not a member, but I did just join the RAF Club about 20 years after retiring! We'll be staying there a couple of nights next month, after PWP.

I once had a Mk. 1 Cortina which I used RAC Recovery to rescue - possibly a record number of times. I wonder if they'd like to put that on display next? ;-)

Lovely. A nod to Ron Grant, I’m sure he would also be delighted.

Absolutely Robin, very sad that he can not see the car completed having rescued it from its forty odd year hibernation. Ron was such a nice guy, I hope he is looking down happy with the end result.......

Also don't forget Charlie Duerdon who campaigned the car in a few events during his many years ownership.
Also pleased that I was involved in the transaction between Charlie's widow and Ron Grant.
I will send Pam Duerden a copy of these pictures.

From The Northern Whig , Tuesday, 11 August 1931, showing that it was the Earl of March, and not Goldie Gardner, who brought a spare car (C0263) which was used by Victor Ferguson at Craigantlet.
