The battered one I have has a small opening one end (approx 3/4 inch day) with a very fine thread, its too battered to measure, I assume that a hollow bolt held it in position on the back, (actually towards the front of the car) of the number plate, if you see what I mean. Picture of the battered AT201 and of the kind of nut required. The one shown is larger (approx 1 " dia) and of a much coarser thread.

Hello, Richard. Here are a couple of pictures showing how I fitted the lamp. The stainless steel mounting plate is fitted behind the backing plate to the registration plate. There are a couple of countersunk screws securing the stainless steel mounting plate to the backing plate also a third screw which also helps to hold the registration plate.(with domed head) Hope you can make sense of that! Chris

Chris, may I ask please, where you got that fairly small diameter cable armouring from?
Cheers,
Dave |

Here's the arrangement for the TF201A on a Minor. I believe the M Type was the same, albeit with a square number plate with the lamp at the top.

Hello, Dave. I got the armour cable cover from one of the suppliers at Stoneleigh but I can’t remember their name, sorry. Regards, Chris |

Dave, in the past I've bought similar from a company called Trallo Supplies, they sell on Ebay. If you do an Ebay search for 'galvanised steel flexible conduit' you will find a wide range of sizes available. Terry |

I found that 1/2 inch chromed flex conduit can be found at plumbing supply houses used for hand held shower heads.
