I was given this handmade tapestry a few years ago by an MG enthusiast clearing out his attic. He could not remember it’s history or how he came by it. A lot of work has gone into making this. As I understand it MG 4561 is not known to the register? The frame size is 32x25 cms. The inscription on the back says ‘To Peter, for his birthday in 1994 from Con and Geoffrey’ Needle work by Connie Hanlan 1993-1994.
I would be happy to pass this on for the price of the postage however preference would go to someone with a connection to the piece. Does anyone know the background?
Tim, this has been made using a widely available cross stitch craft kit, or at least it was in the '90s / early 2000's. I have the same one my wife, Sue, made around 2010 and a half completed one that she was converting the standard kit two tone blue colours into the cream and green of our NB. Terry
Thanks Terry - that certainly sounds plausible and I’m happy to believe it. The note on the back does suggest it was made over a two year period? As I said earlier I would be delighted to find a home for it.
