In 1932/33 there was a weekly publication called The Motoring Encyclopedia and Touring Gazetteer of the British Isles which ran for 34 issues, the idea being that, having collected the full set, you could get them bound into a single reference volume. Bound volumes are readily available on fleaBay - I bought mine a couple of months ago for twenty pounds, including postage.
They’re a nice period reference book and I was amused at the illustration for the entry 'Cutting In'
Looks to be a J1 - I wonder whether it survived. It’s not listed in the printed Register nor by DVLA.

Interesting, Simon. Shame they used an MG for an example of bad driving and the fact the driver is a woman would hardly go down well today!! Regards, Chris |

Oops, it would seem that is actually a D Type - D0301. But still no sign of it surviving.
