For information only.
Seen for sale today on eBay, a rather damaged brass guarantee plate for J2 No. 2314. Sadly, not listed in the Triple-M-Register. Chris |

A unique and original chassis plate from I believe an MG J2 of the early 1930s, car number J2314, engine number begins with 8, then figures missing, and ends in AJ. 1p coin in photo denotes size.
Engraved metal.
Condition: good, some marks and damage where it was detached.
If he calls that good, I'd hate to see a bad one but it must have a real tale to tell

This car is listed as non-active on the Register, but its details are known to us because member Mark Boldry has told us that it was owned by the father of an acquaintance (Philip Wallace) in the 1930s.
Mark, if you read this and could put us in touch with Philip for details of his father's name and anything else he could tell us about his period of ownership, that would be invaluable info for the Register. TIA
Reg JB 858 Engine number 889AJ
