This really did happen to me yesterday.

Returning home after a sweltering morning of activity, I stopped at a local pub at 15.15 only to be informed that they did not open untill 16.00.

So I asked the right question: "Can I have a pint whilst I am waiting?"

Thankfully the answer was yes and I enjoyed a pint sitting outside the very quiet pub, finishing it just before they opened.
