I was at a local village fete yesterday with my J2 and was approached by a chap from near Chard who has a J2 in pieces and intends to rebuild it. Apparently it is mechanically more or less complete but needs bodywork (tub and wings mainly) He couldn't remember the reg No. or chassis number other than the reg no. starts with "TL". I could only find 2 "TL"'s on the register and neither looked likely. I will keep tabs on this as we have exchanged details. Simon C.

A Kesteven Lincolnshire plate. We have a 1930 car that had one too (not MG though)

Not a J2, but TL 1021 was originally on CM1017

According Register records:
TL 2700 (J2762) recorded owner has had the car since 1989 but the record is rather sparse.
- TL 2971 (J2530) Barry Walker had this car for sale in autumn 2021. It was then in a partly restored condition

Thanks for info, I suppose J2762 or 2530 are possibilities. Anyway, if and when I learn more I will advise. The owner is not in the MGCC but has 2 X 1930'ish Morris Minors as well. Simon C.

The J2 in question is J2530 (TL 2971) owned by Chris Hipwood from the Chard area. He was over today to take J2 details to help in his rebuild. It is currently dismantled with partly restored mechanicals and very little bodywork. Judging by his 1933 Minor it will be a very fine job.
