Almost completed the cladding of the body frame I have made for my M Type. The old one I have copied was painted black. How were they finished originally. Do I leave it as natural wood (soaked in cuprinol) or should I paint it. If so what colour and what about the plywood under the petrol tank - body colour?. Should it be painted under the body covering. What about sealing end grain and the exposed plywood edges with external PVA or even resin / catalyst. Lastly any tips on cleaning the wood shavings and saw dust from the workshop!

Cheers

Thanks Bob

I am interested in whether M Type bodies were originally painted and if so was this just the bits that show or were the parts under the fabric painted as well.

Cheers

Jan

My body [the one on the M-type that is] was purchased as a set of mainly original frame parts some 30 years ago - all the original bits were painted matt black.
