Looking for a set of blocks to lower the ride height on my P Type by about an inch for speed events. I know that I can achieve the same by having the springs reset, but I thought that blocks would give me greater flexibility in the future if I want to return to standard ride height. Thanks, Peter |

Not sure anyone makes these. Have made them several times, got block cut by my local metal shop and just drilled the holes with a pillar drill. Then you just need longer (u-) bolts.

Peter, I believe a 'lowering block' will only work at the rear suspension spring, but the drawing & photo below show what I needed to accommodate over-cambered new rear springs - which may help:

Works at the front as well, just reduces the spring travel due to the chassis going over. Should not be a problem if you don’t go trialling ;)

Seem to be a lot of leaves on your rear springs, Bruce. Regards, Chris |

They look much like mine with 9 leaves as on page 495 of Blower (PA/B). The 6 cylinder cars seem to have fewer leaves.
Perhaps they are like British Rail and are the wrong sort of leaves? |

Chris, My rear springs have 9 off leaves, just like:
My new rear springs just have excessive unloaded curvature, hence the addition of spacer blocks.

Thanks, Bruce and Nigel. It is many years since I had a P type and I had forgotten how many leaves were fitted. They just appear excessive to the eye. Regards, Chris |
