I have just downloaded J Felpers drawing from the forum with the idea of making a footslope for my car.

One question: What is the diagonal slot for?, from the top left hand corner. I can understand the 4" radius.

I am sure that it will be something obvious however at the moment I cannot see it.

I am not looking at the car at the moment so any advice would be appreciated.

I made a foot slope from that drawing using approx: dimensions without the slot and it still fitted perfectly.

Hi, dont know if correct, I used the slot on the left hand side to feed the oil pressure pipe thru.

The diagonal cutout is actually at the top right hand corner when fitted,looking forward, the purpose of it is to clear the carpet attachment flange on the rear face of firewall which curves around above the top of the gearbox.

Hi Everyone,

Now that it has been explained so well by you all, I can see that the drawing should be viewed in reverse ie through a mirror or through the the reverse side of the drawing.

Thanks for your help, as they say its simple when you know how.
