I am looking to buy a period correct jack for my PA. Would one have been supplied with the car, or what do people use ? Any pictures would be really appreciated.

Hi Chris,

Type "Classic British Car Jacks" into your search engine, you will find useful information that will help you arrive at a Jack.

From memory P type jacks will be expensive if you can find good one.

I have chosen a Lake and Elliot type for my P.

The Lake and Elliot foundry was at Braintree Essex and I live nearby and L and E was cheaper, so it was no contest!!!

Chris . I have a Lake and Elliott screw Jack for sale if you are interested . It looks just like the Shelley Jack in the parts list .
No handle unfortunately but asking £20 plus postage . It is quite heavy so will weigh it and get postage cost if you want .
Please email me direct . barray@talktalk.net

I was lucky to find an original Shelley A6 jack, but whatever happened to all of the original folding handles. It seems no one selling an original jack has the handle to with it. I finally made one.

I think the original location for the jack was strapped to the floor behind the driver's seat. I keep my Lake & Elliot jack under the passenger footrest - much easier to get at if needed.

Chris,

I have a Lake & Elliot S423 jack, but no handle. Looks like new as somebody has done a damn good job restoring it. £30 plus postage.
