Would anyone have or know where there are records of Morris Industries Exports in the 1930s?
Specifically, I am seeking the chassis numbers (or UK registration numbers) of 6 MG J2s exported to the east coast of the US on behalf of Sam Collier. We already know of the R.A. MacDermid car J2416. But the others seem elusive.

Lew. Have you been in touch with Peter Ross in Bolton (boltonmg). I know he has done a lot of work into the J2s imported by the Colliers.

Peter is a friend and fellow member of the NAMMMR. Good tip, but it is on behalf of Peter that I am asking. He asked me to help.

Lew,
Would Morris Industries Export Ltd have been involved in the export of secondhand cars like MacDermid's?

Good question, Simon. However we have examples of two cars which have entries in the chassis files (J2594 and an L2) showing that Morris Industries Exports were the agent for the exports.

Interesting, Lew. I wonder was the involvement of MacDermid and Bastock in the two J2s a significant element in the factory, and Morris Industries Export, being involved?

Peter Ross tells me that the Colliers were mostly interested in cars which had a significant racing history but whose owners or the factory wanted to move on with newer and more powerful cars. Thus the ARCA members could acquire proven cars at a bargain price suitable for North American racing.
