Can someone please tell me what size screws were originally used to fix P Type door hinges. Were they No 12s?

Maurice,
I can't speak for a 2-seater P-type (yet) but on my PB Airline, a number 12 countersunk setscrew works well. I would suggest you try to fit various sizes to the countersink in the hinge. That should give you the likely size.
Cheers,
