Does anyone know the correct routing for the oiltemp.guage capillary tube from dash to the sump?

Mine runs via the RHS cross brace, thence to the underside of the steering column, through the rubber gaiter, continues down the underside of the column and after a curly bit it then connects to the RHS sump union. I have used small black zip ties to secure the capillary.

P Type firewall layout - I've acquired a very helpful sketch originating from Peter Down. This shows the oil temperature gauge pipe routing and plenty else.
