On the original body of my PB 0635 I found cast brass pieces on both sides between the running boards and the front wings instead of piping. The pieces have the same upper shape as the boards and wings and are T-shaped in section. The top part is 25 mm wide and 8mm high while the vertical part of the "T" is 4mm thick. Quite substantial - almost a bit clumsy and heavy!
I have never noticed anyone having those on their cars - were they discarded after a while and piping used instead? Nor have I seen them in photos of MMM cars or for example in the PB prototype photos which are of pretty good quality.
My impression is that they are too well made to be "homemade" - cast and all...
Does anyone know more about this?
