can anyone tell me if the vacume pump associated with the supercharger
/air cleaner housing should be running when the motor is running. and what its purpose is.

Keith,

You do not need to use the vacume pump at all. I have removed the plastic connections that go into the body of the supercharger and pluged the holes (two at each end of the body). I do not know of anyone who is using the vacume pump on a Triple-M car.

Peter.

I believe the pump was used solely for the purposes of draing off any surplus fuel lying in the body of the Volumex.

Like Peter I have blocked up the four holes on the Volumex I run on my NB.
