As you can see I've failed again, although the link works. As far as I can see, I religiously follow the instructions & sometimes I get the pic; sometimes this result. Any hints??

There you go!!

the line where the image is inserted needs to look like:-
img (within square brackets) http://etc etc /img (also within square brackets) then the image will display. Things in square brackets are tags which tell the webpage what to do with the next item, the img tag tells the program that the next thing is an image and the /img that images are done with. Your posting had img /img http://etc etc which is which there was no picture displayed.
