Bob, Sorry I have been a bit tardy. My 1931 M-type is more or less totally original, even to some of its original Rexine. There are a total of 8 Lift-the dot fasteners at the back, 6 across the boot lid and one either side. They are not equi-distant. From the centreline of the boot lid they are at 75mm, 260mm and 400mm respectively and approx 15mm back from the leading edge. The ones at the sides are approx 20mm down from the edge of the wooden frame and approx 40mm ahead of the corner of the boot lid. The original posts were the common screw-in type but I recently replaced them with the little plate mounted type (with 2 screws each) which are a bit kinder to the fabric (now vynil due to my recent re-covering). |
