I have been endevouring to aquire a copy for some time, all adverts seem to start at around £75.00. If anyone has a copy for a sensible price please don't hesitate to contact me! Ian |

Hi Bill, Hard back copy will cost over £120, I have been searching for some time and have had a booksearcher email me with the price of £500?.
Needless to say I did not purchase it.
Obviously at these high prices they should be perfect with no greasy marks etc.

I've just caught this topic, and yes, I've been trying to find a copy too for ages, and for a sensible price. All a bit beyond a joke now, it would make a good reference book but not for £300 odd quid! - last price I saw.
I had suggested to Philip B-P that surely it would be worth trying to run a re-print. There seems to be a big demand for it.![](images/icon_smile_sad.gif)
I guess it's all about copyrights etc.

I am sitting here looking at my copy of both volumes!! I know the asking prices for these books and the K3 Dossier by Mike Hawke have been high - but £300......!
The other books printed by Magna Press are M.G.Trials Cars by Roger Thomas, M.G.s On Patrol by Andrea Green and MGC - Abingdon's Grand Tourer by Graham Robson.
I believe the copyright for both M.G. Road Cars Volume One - Four cylinder O.H.C 1929 - 1936 and M.G. Road Cars Volumme two - six cylinder O.H.C 1931 - 1936 belong to Malcolm Green (Magna Press).
Regards George. |

Hi George, I am also looking at my mint copy of MG Road Cars Vol 1.
I only paid £24.95 just a couple of years ago. This must be better than money sitting in the bank when the interest rate is only 0.5% at the present time ![](images/icon_smile_big.gif)

There is a serious warning to us all here. I bought Vol 2 off the internet, the cheaper of the two available recently, at some £10. Everything went thought, payment, etc, when I received a message asking if I realised the book was severely damaged? I hadn't realised but accepted it anyway.
When it arrived I found that the first third of the book had been torn in half, from the fly to the cover, and so had the back third... and I guess I know why..
"You are always in that damned garage, always late for your meals, I cannot stand it any more, I hate everything MG"... rip rip... He was obviously there or she would have got the middle third too.
It is still readable but can anybody email me the bottom half of the index page which sadly didn't survive.
Many thanks

Peter, Like Fred, I bought my copy in 2005 at the sticker price. I have scanned the index page (below) but short of scanning the whole book, which would most probably be in breach of copyright, I can copy & email specific pages for anyone in dire need.
Please note, this is Vol.1 index.

Hi Bruce,
I was about to scan my index page for Peter then I realised he was referring to Vol 2.
I have only Vol 1.

You star! Many thanks. But... hmmm isn't this the index to Vol 1?
Never mind, it is the thought that counts!
Cheers

I preferred the earlier method of Flicker's to upload a photo. Perhaps I did stumble through it, let's see.
This one is in honour of Bruce who is always willing to help.
