I have a Britis car magasin CLASSIC CARS from february 1975. In it is a story and photos of the MG M 12/12. And there some photos of a M 12/12 David Cooksey has made. And the text : and Jonathen Wood explains how he did it. Where can I find that ??

Hi Everyone,

As an apprentice in the 1960’s, I worked with someone who took me to work in a red K1 saloon. He also had two P types and was emigrating and I wanted to buy a P type but my parents would not let me put an old car in our front garden. For Christmas in 1968 Margaret bought me a book on MG’s by Wherry. It was the P type which I thought was pretty with the stronger 3 bearing engine I wanted. I liked the J2 but was worried about the 2 bearing crank.

This copy of Classics and Sports Cars brings back memories for me. It was THIS COPY C&SC and an article by someone called Mike Hawke who wrote in the CSMA magazine in 1971 about running a pre-war MG for the cost of a packet of cigarettes! Both of these articles were the catalyst for me to buy my P type.

I also looked at the Morgan’s at the time but came back to the P type.

The Morgan TOK featured in this magazine. I have seen locally as it belonged to someone at Brands Hatch Morgan’s and I called in several times seeing it being restored a few years ago.

In the loft somewhere I still have this magazine and the CSMA one as well.

Regards…. Terry A

This same sketch by James Leech appears on the inside of the cover to Profile Publications number 45 'The MG Midget M type' printed sometime in the early 70s. The publication has 10 pages of M type data and history and the inside of the rear cover has another sketch by James Leech showing a green M type (nr 29) prepared by Abbibgton for the 1939 Le Mans. I found this copy at Beaulieu a number of years ago so there may some copies about.
Bob.

If you would like it as a late Chrismas present, let me have your postal address.
