Not sure which section to put this in.
Having great deal of bother trying to find these.
Unless you want them by the barrel, the companies I've found are not interested. I'm usually on the ball for getting non metric stuff. Nylocs abound but not Aerotights. |

Try Namrick. Aerotight nuts are not listed on their website but they usually have them in stock.

Mike Peters "seems" to have them (On suppliers page) Although they are termed as Aerotights and Aerotites.. So the search facility didn't bring them up. I need the full sized nuts. I've e mailed Peter, might have nailed it. Fingers crossed. This will directly help the club, if I find a regular supply. |

Thanks Brian. Have e mailed already. Looks like they suit our requirements perfectly. Potentially another for the Suppliers List. |

Just for information neither Nyloc or Aerotight nuts were used anywhere on your J2 originally. Any nuts that needed to be locked were castle or slotted nuts with split pins. That does not of course mean you cant use them if you want to ! Entirely up to you what you use on your car !

Dear TH, Quite aware of that. They are for a fellow the same age as his 1932 J2. He has used them for donkies years. I think he has the measure of what he is doing. He favours them over castles as he can tighten them exactly to how he wants them. In my eyes, he has been rebuilding these cars and wheels "for ever", and must have seen/heard many schools of thought on what is "acceptable, practical, advantageous." Might be a reason why he doesn't want to be in a club, telling him what to do with his car?

Spitfire to clarify, my post is specifically NOT telling you or your friend what to do just pointing out some information in case you were not aware of it.

Gary You would do well to read posts more care fully before responding with a dig at the club. The last line of Terry's post: "That does not of course mean you cant use them if you want to ! Entirely up to you what you use on your car !"
A benchmark of this "club" is respect and civility towards each other, the ability to participate on these forums is a privilege not a right, therefore as you seem unable to refrain from sniping at the club and its members I have decided to lock you out for a period of time. If you wish to rejoin the forum, drop me an email in about a month's time and I will ask the committee to consider it. Nick
