I've never been too keen on motorways so, when my Daughter went to Newcastle Uni, I devised a route from the Dartford Tunnel to Newcastle avoiding such roads. This took me through Darlington from which the A68 will take you most of the rest of the way.

If anyone going to the Raid from Eastern England would like to consider my route, let me know.

In the first instance I will just send a list of the towns enroute & if you then think you may like to use it I will send the full thing. I warn you though not to expect Tulips! I think you should be able to understand it though!

All being well, I hope to be on the Border Rever’s Raid. I will be travelling up from North Kent. Have you planned a stop on route or are you going to travel in one hit?
