Adrian,

All you need to know is here: http://www.mglive.co.uk/
Sort of that is ... Nothing on the Triple-M race on this website ...

Peter G, can you please enlighten me on how to enter the race? Or should I email the Club?

Regards,
Cat

Found them too, thanks! Thought 'we' had to race with the MRL which is much more expensive and would hardly have been doable!

£340 for the MMM race is hardly cheap!

VSCC is still very reasonably priced in comparison to other motor sports event organisers!

How much would a VSCC race at Silverstone be exactly?

This years April Spring start VSCC race meeting on the CLUB (short) circuit was £152 for the 30 min reliability trial, a race in all but name. The set 3 race was £175, for 8 laps.
Are you racing this year Cat ?

Nooo, not me! Not with you out on the track as well ! Thijs is though, so watch out for the orange clog!

This VSCC racing does seem to offer good value compared to the MGCC race ...

Cheers,
Cat

Cat,

Taking an 8 lap VSCC race on the National (club) circuit (1.6 miles) and the Triple-M race on the ‘Grand Prix’ circuit (3.6 miles) the MGCC's race offers better value than the VSCC's race if you compare cost per mile raced or cost per minute raced.

The 8 lap VSCC race equates to 13 miles of racing for £175 which is approximately £13.30 per mile raced, while the 35 minute MGCC race (should be 10 laps, 36.6 miles, for a Triple-M car) costs £340 which is approximately £9.30 per mile raced. This means the MGCC race is 30% cheaper per mile raced than the VSCC race.

Having said that it is still a lot of money for, hopefully, 35 minutes of fun.

Peter.

There are many kinds of fun available for less than £10.00 per minute!

Peter,

Your financial logic shows the MGCC race to be cheaper per mile than the VSCC, and the GP circuit is no doubt fun for the driver, but wearing a Triple-M spectator's hat, give me a shorter "club" circuit every time so I can see and hear the cars frequently. The GP circuit is not value for the spectator !. Personally I no longer enjoy MG Silverstone, but I guess the numbers attending show me to be in a minority.
