Thanks to all the suggestions to see Nuvolari's K3 at the Tourist Trophy. As I do not have the quoted books, and may be also for the benefit of other forum followers, can we see these images please? Cheers Paolo

Your attempt was successful Phil, pics delivered, thank you. Appetite for Nuvolari and K3 is endless, any image showing crew members and car together after the Ulster '33 victory? Cheers/Ciao Paolo |

Probably the best 'dash' photo is on page 37 of K3008 on the Paris-St Raphael rally - this is the layout I used on my car...
It looks like one of the Hobson teleguages has been removed (probably the petrol one). |

I still wonder if there are any K3 works photos which show the Hobson unit fittet on a slab-tank ? Because on those sparse photos of K3 slab-tank tops which I could find, always a blind cover closes the aperture on the top of the tank, where normally the Hobson tank unit should have been connected.
That makes me thinking, that on none of the slab-tank K3's the Hobson system was installed for the petrol tank, and the oval petrolgauge, which they all had on the dash, was inoperable ?? Gerhard

The clearest photo of K3003 fitted with the post-27 May 33 crash unique lightweight racing bodywork I have seen is in The Autocar 11 August 33,the article covers the road test of the K3 by S.C.H.Davis of Eyston's Mannin Beg entry. This article is reproduced in the Autocar book "MG Sports Cars" published in two formats in late 70's early 80's. The photo is a frontal RHS view, so no dash panel help but shows the detail of the scuttle construction well. This body was still fitted to K3003 for the TT but the supercharger cowl was replaced by one with wire mesh covered cooling air holes and a unique tall wire mesh SU suction chamber guard. The Mannin Beg/TT body was removed from K3003 late 33-early 34 to be fitted to K3001 for its loan to Kohlrausch but the supercharger cowl can be seen in photographs of JB 1475 as supplied to Theodor Fork.

Gerhard,
Here is the petrol tank of K3016 which shows that the telegauge is attached to the petrol tank.
