Didn't see the post above I'd say 8k was its money. I saw the car on Friday I'd run it as it is too expensive to turn back into a proper j. It will make a good trials car.
Now that is an interesting statement. Why would you call it to expensive to turn it in to a proper J?
With the prices of good restored 2 seat triple M's going the way they are building one from scratch almost starts to look interesting.... Slightly depending on the amount of work you need to outsource.
To turn this car into a proper j all you are getting for 8k is Chassis and axles Half a gearbox Instruments Windscreen P rad which you could swap for a j. That's all the original parts which were j on the car. Everything else was p type Morris and ford. There is so much more you need for a j. To buy and build a engine is a minimum of 10k that takes it to 18k
Thia is all of interest to me. I have known for some while of a J2 in Western Canada fitted with a Ford S/V engine. I haven't seen the car and the owner doesn't even know the chassis nbr but is going to look right away; amd send som pix.
I'm doing this for a friend who is eminently qualified to do a proper restoration, and would like to own the car.
I shall watch progress with interest and perhaps, learn somethimg in the process.
